The Subject Teachers’ Perception of the Performance of Guidance and Counseling Teachers at Medan State High School 12

This study aims to identify and describe subject teachers’ perceptions of the performance of Guidance and Counseling (GC) teachers at SMA Negeri 12 Medan. The research employs a quantitative method with a descriptive-survey approach, which seeks to objectively and systematically illustrate the views of subject teachers regarding the performance of GC teachers in the school. The population in this study consists of all 55 subject teachers, all of whom were included as research samples using a total sampling technique. The results show that, in general, subject teachers’ perceptions of the performance of GC teachers are in the very high category, with 35 respondents (63.64%) having very high perceptions and 20 respondents (36.36%) having high perceptions. There were no respondents with moderate, low, or very low perceptions. Based on each aspect, 74.55% of respondents were in the very high category for the receiving aspect, 65.45% for the understanding aspect, and 63.64% for the evaluating aspect.
