Author Guidelines

Veritas: Jurnal Penalaran dan Riset Mahasiswa Pendidikan invites manuscripts reporting original empirical research and theoretical reasoning (penalaran) in the field of education. Authors are strongly advised to read these guidelines carefully before submitting. Manuscripts that do not adhere to the guidelines or the journal template will be returned for revision before entering the review process (pre-review rejection).

1. General Requirements

  • Originality: The manuscript must be original, has never been published, and is not currently under review in any other journal or conference proceedings.

  • Language: Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English. To support global indexing (Scopus), writing in standard academic English is highly recommended.

  • Word Count: The manuscript length should be between 4,000 – 8,000 words, excluding the reference list.

  • Plagiarism: The similarity index must be below 25% (checked using Turnitin).

2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must be structured according to the IMRaD format as follows:

  1. Title: Concise, informative, and specific. Maximum 15 words. Avoid uncommon abbreviations.

  2. Author Identity: Full name (without academic titles), institutional affiliation (Program, Faculty, University), and email address of the corresponding author.

  3. Abstract: Written in both English and Indonesian (150-250 words). It must contain: (a) Research Objectives, (b) Method, (c) Key Findings/Results, and (d) Conclusion/Implications.

  4. Keywords: 3-5 relevant words or phrases, separated by semicolons (;).

  5. Introduction: Contains the research background, gap analysis, review of relevant literature, and the novelty of the research.

  6. Method: Explains the research design, population/sample, instruments, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques in sufficient detail to allow replication.

  7. Results and Discussion: Presents the findings (using tables/graphs) and discusses them by engaging with theories or previous studies.

  8. Conclusion: Concisely answers the research objectives and provides suggestions for future research.

  9. Acknowledgements: (Optional) Mention funding sources or parties who contributed significantly to the study.

  10. References: Follows the citation guidelines below.

3. Formatting & Citation

  • Template: Authors must use the official Veritas Journal Template downloadable from the website.

  • Style: A4 paper size, Normal Margins (2.54 cm). Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, Line Spacing 1.15.

  • Citation & References:

    • Adhere to APA Style 7th Edition (American Psychological Association).

    • Use of reference management software (Mendeley or Zotero) is mandatory.

    • At least 80% of references must be primary sources (scientific journals/proceedings) published within the last 10 years.

    • Minimum number of references is 20 sources.

4. Submission Process

All submissions must be made electronically via the Open Journal System (OJS):

  1. Register as an Author.

  2. Select New Submission and check all items on the Submission Checklist.

  3. Upload the Manuscript File (Microsoft Word .doc/.docx format).

  4. Enter complete Metadata (Title, Abstract, and Author details).

5. Article Processing Charges (APC)

The journal charges a publication fee to support editorial operations and Open Access dissemination.

A. Regular Track

  • Fee: IDR 150,000

  • Time: Normal review process according to the queue (approx. 1-3 months).

  • Payment: Required only after the manuscript is officially ACCEPTED.

B. Fast Track Review

  • Fee: IDR 250,000

  • Time: Initial editorial decision (Accepted/Revision/Declined) within 2-3 working days.

  • Payment: Required UPFRONT (upon submission) to activate the priority service.

  • Refund Policy: If the manuscript is DECLINED (Rejected) based on quality/review results, the fee will be refunded 100%.

  • Note: Fast Track guarantees the speed of the review process, not the acceptance of the manuscript.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Privacy Statement

The data collected from registered and non-registered users of this journal falls within the scope of the standard functioning of peer-reviewed journals. It includes information that makes communication possible for the editorial process; it is used to inform readers about the authorship and editing of content; it enables collecting aggregated data on readership behaviors, as well as tracking geopolitical and social elements of scholarly communication.

 

This journal’s editorial team uses this data to guide its work in publishing and improving this journal. Data that will assist in developing this publishing platform may be shared with its developer Public Knowledge Project in an anonymized and aggregated form, with appropriate exceptions such as article metrics. The data will not be sold by this journal or PKP nor will it be used for purposes other than those stated here. The authors published in this journal are responsible for the human subject data that figures in the research reported here.

 

Specific Data Usage & Third-Party Sharing:

 

  • Indexing & DOI: Names, affiliations, and email addresses of published authors will be shared with metadata indexing services (e.g., DOAJ, Scopus, Google Scholar) and registration agencies (Crossref) for the purpose of DOI activation and academic visibility.

  • Peer Review: Reviewers' identities are strictly protected under our Double-Blind Peer Review policy and will not be disclosed to authors or third parties without explicit consent.

  • Communication: Email addresses provided will be used exclusively for journal-related communications (submission updates, proofreading, publication announcements) and will not be made available to spam lists or commercial marketing agencies.
