Plagiarism Policy

Veritas: Jurnal Penalaran dan Riset Mahasiswa Pendidikan is strictly committed to upholding academic integrity and the ethics of scientific publication. To ensure the originality of the content, every manuscript submitted to this journal will undergo a mandatory plagiarism screening process before entering the peer-review stage.

General Policy

  1. Originality: Submitted manuscripts must be the original work of the author(s), have never been published previously, and are not currently under review in any other journal or conference proceedings.

  2. Screening Tool: Every manuscript will be checked using professional plagiarism detection software (specifically Turnitin).

  3. Similarity Threshold: Articles must have a similarity index of less than 25%.

    • Note: The similarity count excludes the bibliography/references and direct quotations that are properly cited.

    • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be immediately rejected or returned to the author for revision, depending on the severity.

Types of Plagiarism Not Allowed

The journal classifies plagiarism into the following categories:

  • Verbatim (Direct) Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word from other sources without using quotation marks and proper citation.

  • Paraphrasing Plagiarism: Taking ideas, argumentative structures, or findings from others and changing the words without giving due credit (citation).

  • Self-Plagiarism (Text-Recycling): Reusing significant parts of one's own previously published work without appropriate citation or permission from the previous publisher.

Action Against Violations

The Editorial Board will take the following actions based on the level of plagiarism detected:

  1. Pre-Review Stage: Manuscripts with a similarity index above 25% will be rejected instantly or sent back for major revision.

  2. Post-Publication: If plagiarism is proven after the article has been published, the article will be formally retracted from the journal in accordance with COPE guidelines.

  3. Sanctions: Authors proven to have committed intentional or severe plagiarism may be subject to a ban/embargo, meaning they will be prohibited from submitting to Veritas for a specific period (2 years).
