Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Inclusive Learning and Student Support (JILSS) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure high academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

The review process is conducted as follows:

  1. Initial Screening – Each manuscript is first reviewed by the editorial team to assess its compliance with the journal’s focus, scope, and formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the author without external review.

  2. Double-Blind Review – Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Both the reviewers’ and authors’ identities are kept anonymous throughout the process to maintain objectivity and fairness.

  3. Evaluation Criteria – Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, theoretical contribution, and relevance to inclusive education and student support.

  4. Decision – Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor-in-chief will decide whether the manuscript is accepted, accepted with revisions, resubmitted for review, or rejected.

  5. Revision Stage – Authors are expected to address reviewers’ comments thoroughly and submit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.

  6. Final Review and Editing – The revised manuscript will be rechecked by the editorial team before final acceptance and publication.

The entire peer-review process typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of revisions.

By implementing this systematic and ethical review procedure, JILSS ensures that every published article meets high scholarly standards and contributes meaningfully to the advancement of inclusive learning and student support research.
